What do barnacle goose and Citroën 2CV have in common?

What do barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis) and Citroën 2CV (French: deux chevaux) have in common? They have two things in common. First, they are easy to photograph. Second, they go through different stages in appearance before we see them as adults. I've had two 2CVs, and it's the only car I've regretted selling. The vehicles became objects of customization and went through several stages of development before completion.

We are now living at that time of year when we begin to see the different developmental stages of baby birds. Yesterday I went to Sapokka to photograph a barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis). In the photo series, you can see three phases of the development of young birds.

I saw a Citroën 2CV in the parking lot and couldn't resist photographing it. The car is a bonus shot to this blog post.
